The Michigan Association of Timbermen is a non-profit trade association, representing the forest products industry of Michigan. Founded in 1972, MAT has provided effective representation of Michigan's forestry community, including those who grow, harvest and process forest products. We are committed to the practice of sustainable forestry to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It is our mission to operate programs that reduce operating costs therefore improving profitability of our member firms. We work to acquire greater exposure and understanding of the issues and yet untapped economic potential of Michigan's Forest Industry. We also provide effective representation for Michigan's forest industry with legislators and government officials to favorably influence public policy and legislation.
