McIntosh Timber Laminates is New Zealand's leading structural glue laminated timber manufacturer. Plantation grown New Zealand pine forests have established a vast renewable resource that brings the capability of world leadership in structural timber design. It is with gratitude that we are able to look back on projects over the years that trace the growing advancement of Glulam structures: 'Nelson Type' schools, Kinleith Administration Centre - 3 storey timber construction 1965, Trafalgar Sports Centre Nelson - 46m span arches, NAC Hanger arches 1974, Mandalay fire proving the point 1974, Tri-board mill Kaitaia at 12000sq.m., the first of the big Glulam structures 1986, Avondale College stadium fire replacement 35m span 1993. Since 1972 we have developed the use of the New Zealand Glulam overseas. Australia was introduced to major Glulam structures in the 1980's. The Pacific has many examples of church and school buildings, In Asia we have the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club 50m span octagonal roof, World Expo in Seville 1992 extensively used McIntosh Glulam, Hotel resort buildings in new markets have recently made striking use of McIntosh Glulam.
