Canada's Wood Products Research Institute Forintek Canada Corp. is a private, non-profit wood products research and development corporation. It was established in 1979 as Canada's applied research institute for the solid wood products industry, which manufactures lumber, plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), medium density fibreboard (MDF), particleboard, and value-added products. Forintek consists of two divisions - one based in Vancouver, British Columbia and the other in Quebec city, in the province of Quebec. It also has satellite centres, at Carleton University in Ottawa, in Edmonton, Alberta, in Prince Albert, Sask! atchewan, and in Prince George, British Columbia. Forintek has an annual budget of $23 million, funded through a partnership arrangement with industry and governments.
